Many local business partners in Ashland, Bad River, Bayfield, Cornucopia, La Pointe, Red Cliff and Washburn (100+ businesses/organizations) are lighting their storefronts up in purple between Monday, August 26th – Saturday, August 31st to signal their support for ending stigma and acknowledging the grief of those affected by overdose. Local overdose data and community resource fliers will be posted and shared by many of the participating businesses. During this week there will also be vigils held at The PIRC in Ashland, Bad River Harm Reduction Services, and at the Red Cliff Pow Wow Grounds. NARCAN training events will be incorporated into some of the vigils as well as provided to interested participating businesses.
