The “Kammeratredning” conference (PEER RESCUE: National conference on stopping overdoses) on August 30, 2024, in Aarhus, focuses on preventing drug overdoses. The event will feature insights from forensic experts on opioid-related deaths and the current drug landscape.

The Danish Department of Forensic Medicine will lead the first part of the conference, providing critical insights into how opioid overdoses lead to death, along with an overview of the substances currently circulating in the drug market.

Additionally, discussions with drug users will explore overdose prevention from their perspective, emphasizing the importance of care, community, and the Antidote initiative. Drug users will share their experiences of living with daily overdoses, the pain of losing their best friends, and the uncertainty of tomorrow, while highlighting their peer-to-peer efforts to create a safer life.

Hosted by Rasmus Poulsen (aka Raske Penge), the event is organized by Antidote Danmark and other partners, supported by Oak Foundation Denmark. The day concludes with a networking session and food from Det Rullende Hjerterum (The Rolling Heart Room).
