The International Overdose Awareness Day Vigil is an opportunity for community to gather and pay their respects to those who have lost their lives to overdose and show a unified support to families and friends who have lost loved ones to overdose. This is an opportunity to reduce stigma and educate community.
Community are welcome to bring a candle or candle application on their phone for the vigil. There will be a short guest speaker presentation at the commencement followed by a minute of silence.
The event will commence at 5.30pm and conclude no later than 6pm. The vigil will be held on the lawned area of the Rail Lands next to Bay Road, Mt Gambier.
