Passaic, NJ – Mayor Hector C. Lora, in collaboration with OpioidFree and the Mayor’s Youth Council, is excited to host Passaic’s second annual International Overdose Awareness Day event. The theme for this year’s event is “Together We Can” to emphasize the community’s commitment to combating addiction and its devastating effects.
The event will feature activities such as a candlelight vigil, face painting, bouncy houses, arts and crafts, games, and informational booths. Additionally, Narcan kits and fentanyl test strips will be distributed to attendees as part of the harm reduction efforts. Nurses from Medgar Evers College will be on-site providing health check-ups.
Food and drinks will be provided, and all are welcome to attend. Attendees are encouraged to remember those lost to drug overdose and to raise awareness about opioid addiction and its impact on the community.
