Join us for an Awareness Day event to honor those we’ve lost to drug overdoses. We’ll host a memorial table for reflection, a sacred fire, and tobacco ties for respect and prayers.
An elder will lead a vigil, supporting community healing. Additionally, pine tree seedlings will be gifted to attendees as living tributes.
In 2023, Alberta saw an average of five daily overdose deaths, totaling 2,052 for the year, with Indigenous People impacted at a rate eight times higher than others in the province.
This gathering is a chance to unite, increase awareness, and promote prevention within our community
